Explore 29 Latest Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a radical new set or yet another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Take a look here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key context. Everything mentioned here releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before we get into the many special decks and bundles available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a few surprising features. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu, in which players can cheat big creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the mechanic a little (Sneak is treated as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in future sets moving forward.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that's where it originated and it is iconic to that,” a senior game designer stated. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, so was I. But according to the developers, that's now a legal card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they took care to ensure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for over a year and we were aware it would be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy focused on artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” he added.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

After declining to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards who could work as your Commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of only one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Sources indicated that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests approximately 20 reprints if we assume the deck includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles version of Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and see.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil land cards
  • 15 Regular basic lands
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Foil promotional card
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
  • 5 Foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

If you’re wondering about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card with brand-new TMNT art. The team revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • Ten Non-foil token cards
  • One drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The concept is that every Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures contained in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
