Tuchel Criticizes Wembley Fan Atmosphere Following Dominant Win Over Wales.

Thomas Tuchel shared his regret that the England team did not receive stronger encouragement from the home fans during their decisive triumph over Wales on Thursday evening.

Tuchel was satisfied to see his team showcase their winning momentum, with finishes from Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the opening quarter settling the game. Yet, he was displeased with the energy at the national stadium.

“We had one and a half training days to get ready against a organized team and we performed excellently,” the coach stated. “It could have been 5-0 up at the break. We missed the additional goals. It was quiet. There was no support from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“How much more can you give in the first quarter? We didn’t let them escape. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for half an hour, it’s regrettable because the squad warranted greater backing today.”

“I support this statement. We cannot do more than leading 3-0 in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a bit more support in moments where it gets difficult.”

“In the second half, to support us, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It could have helped us to regain energy, but that’s the way it went and that is it.”

Selection Choices Justified by Performance

Away from risking a dispute among supporters, the manager also created controversy by omitting Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. However the decision was justified by Morgan Rogers delivering another standout performance in the No 10 position and getting his maiden goal for his country.

“He plays his game,” the head coach noted. “He is a No 10 and he is fighting for his position.”

Bellamy Hopes for Improvement from Loss

Craig Bellamy hopes that Wales, who host Belgium in a crucial qualifying match on next week, take lessons from their poor first-half display.

“This is why I wanted this match,” Bellamy stated. “I need to see our standing. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? Today fills me with inspiration.”

Injury Concern for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was taken off at half-time after colliding with a post and will be a doubt when the national team face Latvia in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.
